Elijah and the Ravens
When Elijah had no food, God took care of him in a surprising way. Come and see how God remembered His friend.
Elijah was a prophet who loved God with his whole heart. One quiet day, God spoke gently to him. “Go and rest by the little brook called Cherith,” God said, “and I will take care of you there.” So Elijah set off, trusting that God would keep His promise.
When Elijah reached the brook, he knelt down and drank. The water was cool and fresh, and it splashed softly over the smooth stones. He felt so glad to have a drink. And he remembered God’s promise — God had even said that birds would bring him food, right there by the brook.
Then God sent birds called ravens, with shiny black wings. Every morning, when the sky turned pink, they flew to Elijah carrying bread and meat. And every evening, as the sun went down, they came again with bread and meat. God had not forgotten His friend.
Day after day the ravens brought him food, and the little brook gave him water. Elijah never went hungry, and he never went thirsty. Each meal reminded him that God was near. God did not forget Elijah, not even for one day.
Elijah learned that God can care for us in ways we never expect. We can bring our worries to Him. God sees us, God loves us, and He invites us to trust Him one day at a time.
Thank You, God, for seeing me and loving me. Help me trust You and ask for what I need each day.
