Love Is the Greatest
Paul wrote a beautiful letter to his friends in Corinth to remind them what real love looks like. Come and hear the most important thing of all.
Paul wanted to teach his friends in Corinth the most important thing of all. So he dipped his pen and began to write them a gentle letter. With a warm and happy heart, he wrote all about love. It was a gift he wanted everyone to keep.
“Love is patient,” Paul wrote softly. “Love is kind.” He thought of how love waits with a calm, quiet heart. “Love does not brag,” he wrote, “and it does not act proud.” Love is happy just to be good and gentle.
“Love is not rude or selfish,” Paul wrote with care. Love thinks about other people, not only itself. Love does not keep score or try to get even. Forgiving does not mean saying a hurt was all right; love tells the truth and chooses kindness.
Paul explained that love protects, hopes, and keeps going. Real love looks for what is true and never asks us to hide something unsafe. If something hurts or frightens you, you can always tell a trusted grown-up. That is one way love helps people face hard things together.
Paul said that faith, hope, and love will always remain — and the greatest of these is love. It is bigger and warmer than anything else in the whole world. And best of all, he wrote, God’s love for us never, ever ends. It will hold us close every single day, forever.
Thank You, God, for loving me so much. Help me to be patient and kind, and to be full of love for everyone around me.
